How long term car rental works

Long term car rental in Agadir works on the same simple rule as every rental with us: the daily rate depends on the total length of your stay, and it applies to every day. Each car has four rates, for three to six days, for a week or more, for 30 days or more, and for 60 days or more.

That means a 60 day rental is not charged as two months at the 30 day rate. Once you pass 60 days, the lower rate applies from the very first day. The calculator above shows the exact figures for each car, using today's prices.

You can book up to 90 days online, with nothing to pay until you collect the car. For anything longer, message us and we will set up the rental with you.

Extending or changing your rental

Plans change on long stays more than on short ones. If you want to keep the car longer, message us on WhatsApp before the end date, and we will extend the booking if the car is free. If the extension takes you past 30 or 60 days, the lower rate then applies to the whole rental.

If you need to end early, tell us first so we can agree what happens with the unused days. You can also ask about changing car partway through a long rental, for example a bigger one when friends come to stay.

Who rents a car by the month in Agadir?

Winter visitors

Agadir has one of the mildest winters in Morocco, and many visitors from Europe stay for two or three months between November and March. A car turns a beach stay into a season of day trips: the surf villages one week, the Souss valley the next, the Anti-Atlas when the almond trees flower.

Remote workers

Taghazout and Tamraght have become popular with people who work online. A monthly car gets you to the waves, the coworking spaces and the big supermarkets in Agadir, and costs far less over a month than daily taxis.

Families visiting home

Moroccans who live abroad often spend the long summer visit with family in the Souss region. A monthly rental gives the whole family a car for the summer, without a deposit to find.

Work and projects

A contract or project in the Souss-Massa region is easier with a car you do not have to buy, register, insure or sell at the end.

Renting or buying a car in Morocco

For a stay of a few months, renting is usually the simpler choice. Buying a car in Morocco as a visitor means dealing with registration papers, yearly road tax, insurance renewal and servicing, and then finding a buyer when you leave. Renting means one fixed monthly price and handing back the keys at the end.

A rental also keeps the budget predictable. Insurance is included, there is no deposit, and fuel is your only running cost on most stays. If something goes wrong with the car, you call us rather than a garage.

Not staying quite that long? For shorter trips on a budget, see our cheap car rental page, and you can compare the whole fleet side by side.

Living in Agadir with a car

Most long stays are spent in an apartment, so check the parking before you sign. Many buildings along the beach front and in the newer districts have their own spaces or garages, while older areas such as Talborjt rely on street parking with a guardian. Our page on living in town describes each area.

Keep the car papers and your licence and passport with you when you drive, as police checks are common on the roads around the city. Fines are the driver's to pay, and roadside fines are usually paid on the spot.

If the car needs attention during the rental, such as a warning light or a tyre, tell us straight away and we will arrange it with you.

Good to know for long stays

  • No deposit, however long you stay, as explained on our no deposit page
  • The same rules for drivers as for any rental
  • Add a second driver for €10 for the whole rental
  • Unlimited kilometres, however far you drive in the month
  • Return the car at the same fuel level

About two and a half hours south. Red cliffs, a quiet Atlantic town and wide empty beaches.
Essaouira
About three hours north along the coast, through Taghazout and Imsouane.
Marrakech
About three hours on the A7 motorway, over the High Atlas.
Taroudant and Tizi n'Test
Taroudant in just over an hour, then the mountain pass for a full day out.

Seasons for a long stay in Agadir

Winter is the busiest season for long stays. From November to March the days are mild and sunny, while much of Europe is cold, and many visitors stay for two or three months. Booking early for this period gives you the widest choice of cars.

Summer brings a different crowd: families and Moroccans living abroad, often for July and August. Spring and autumn are quieter and very pleasant, with green valleys inland after the rains and warm sea temperatures into October.

Costs to plan for beside the rental

On a long rental, the monthly price covers the car and the insurance. The other costs are easy to estimate. Fuel is the main one, and depends on how far you drive. Parking guardians in town expect a few dirhams, and paid car parks charge by the hour.

Motorway tolls apply if you drive to Marrakech or further north, and fines are the driver's responsibility. Extras such as a second driver or a child seat are charged once for the whole rental, not per month, which keeps them small on a long stay.

Looking after a car on a long rental

Over a month or more, a little care keeps the car comfortable. Sand from the beach gets everywhere, so give the inside a quick clean now and then. Keep an eye on the tyres if you drive on rough roads, and tell us straight away about any warning light or noise, so we can sort it out before it becomes a problem.

Park in the shade in summer where you can, and use the paid car parks or a guardian in town rather than leaving the car on a quiet street overnight. If you plan a long trip into the mountains or the far south, let us know, especially in winter when the high passes can close for snow.

At the end of a long rental, the handover works exactly as it does for a short one. Agree the time and place with us, at Agadir Airport or in town, bring the car back with the same fuel level, and check it together. There is no deposit to wait for afterwards.
