Cheap car rental in Agadir

Cheap car rental in Agadir only counts if the price stays the same at pick-up. Work out your real total below, then see where you can save.

Work out your real cost

Choose a car, a length and any extras. This is the amount you pay at pick-up, before fuel.

What a week really costs

The cheapest way to rent a car in Agadir is usually not the lowest daily price you can find. It is the rental where the total at the end matches the price at the start, and where the length of the rental works in your favour.

Our daily rate depends on how long you keep the car, and it applies to every day of the rental. Here is what that means for our lowest priced car, with today's rates. The calculator above works out any other combination, and the daily prices for every car are on our cars and prices page.

Why cheap car rental in Agadir can cost more at the desk

The price on a comparison site is often only the start. These are the costs that tend to appear later, and how each one works with us.

Common extra costWhat often happensWith CarRentAgadir
InsuranceBasic cover only, with an upgrade sold at the deskFull insurance is in the price
DepositA large hold on a credit cardNo deposit at all
Airport surchargeAdded to the final billNo fee at Agadir Airport
MileageA daily km limit, then a charge for every km over itUnlimited kilometres
Hotel deliveryA delivery fee on top of the priceFree anywhere in Agadir
CancellationOften paid or non-refundableAlways free
Paying up frontCharged in full when you bookNothing to pay online

The deposit is the one that catches most people out. Even when no money is taken, a hold on your card can block several hundred euros for the whole trip. We never take one, and you do not need a credit card at all. Read how renting without a deposit works, including what happens if the car is damaged.

When car rental in Agadir costs least

Agadir is a year round destination. Its winters are mild, which brings visitors from Europe from November to March, and its summers bring families and Moroccans living abroad. Demand peaks around Christmas and New Year, at Easter and in July and August, and those are the weeks when small cars sell out first.

The quieter weeks, outside school holidays, are when you have the most choice. Whatever the season, booking early costs nothing, because there is no payment up front and cancellation is free. You can always check the price for your own dates in the booking form.

The cheapest car for your trip

The Hyundai i10 and both versions of the Dacia Logan share our lowest daily rate. The i10 is best for two people around town, as it is small, automatic and easy to park. The Logan has a much bigger boot and more space in the back, so it is the better value for families or anyone with surf gear.

If you plan to drive a lot, the manual diesel Logan is the one to choose. It costs the same per day as the i10, but it uses less fuel over long distances, which matters on trips to Marrakech, Tiznit or the Anti-Atlas.

Five ways to pay less

Sunset over the beach of Agadir
  1. 1

Rent for seven days, not six

The weekly rate applies to the whole rental, so a seventh day can cost you very little extra. The example above shows the difference with today's prices.

  2. 2

Choose the car by the trip

Two people staying in Agadir do not need an SUV. A Hyundai i10 costs less to rent and much less to fill, and it is easier to park.

  3. 3

    Pick diesel for long distances

If your plans include Marrakech, Tiznit or Essaouira, a diesel Dacia Logan uses noticeably less fuel than a petrol car on the same trip.

  4. 4

Do not pay to drive back

Flying home from Marrakech? The €65 one way fee can cost less than a day of driving, fuel and tolls back to Agadir.

  5. 5

    Book before the busy weeks

Small cars are the first to go over Christmas, Easter and the summer holidays. Cancelling is free, so booking early has no downside.

Fuel: the cost outside the price

Fuel is the one cost that is not in the rental price. You collect the car with a set level and bring it back with the same, so you only pay for what you use.

Our small cars and diesels use around five to six litres per 100 km on the open road. A return trip from Agadir to Marrakech, about 500 km, uses roughly 25 to 30 litres, and a day trip to Taroudant and back far less. Diesel is usually a little cheaper than petrol in Morocco, and fuel stations are easy to find on the main roads. In the mountains they are further apart, so fill up before you climb.

Cheap, without the catch

A low price should not mean less protection. Every rental includes full insurance, with an excess of €1,000 if you are at fault in an accident. You pay nothing online, you pay no deposit, and you can cancel for free if your plans change.

Our prices also come straight from us, with no booking site in the middle. You see the full total before you confirm, and that is what you pay at pick-up, at the airport with no airport surcharge or in town. Staying longer than a month? Our monthly rates are lower still.

Cheap car rental for families

Families often assume they need a large car, but the Dacia Logan seats five and takes four large bags for the same daily price as our smallest car. Add a child seat for €15 for the whole rental, rather than per day, and the total stays low.

If there are two adult drivers, a second driver costs €10 for the whole rental. That is usually worth it for the long drives, and it costs far less than a second car.

Questions to ask before any cheap rental

Whoever you rent from, a few questions protect you from surprises. Is a deposit taken, and how much? Is insurance included, and what is the excess? Is there an airport or location fee? What is the fuel policy? Can you cancel for free, and until when? Do you pay online now, or at pick-up?

With us the answers are simple: no deposit, a €1,000 excess, no fee at Agadir Airport or in the city, same level of fuel back, free cancellation and nothing to pay online. If any other offer cannot answer those questions clearly, the low price may not last until the desk.

Is the cheapest car big enough?

For two people, yes. The Hyundai i10 takes two bags and is easy in town, and the Dacia Logan at the same price takes four. For a family of four with suitcases, the Logan is the one to choose, and it costs no more per day.

Where the cheapest car stops making sense is on rough roads and steep mountain passes with a full car. If your plans include the Anti-Atlas tracks or the Tizi n'Test, a higher car such as the Dacia Duster costs more per day but will be more comfortable on those days.
